can go up to around for 3.897-3.9 bore from 3.78
but that is alot of metal to remove. over .120.
i have always just gone .060. which is fine. also these size pistons are shelf items for press on stock rods.

Thanks ! My dad wants my LS2 rods and pistons I'm using on my LQ9 build but I told him that they were to big and that he could not bore that much on a 4.8/5.3 without resleeving but he seems to think his block has 4.8/6.0 on it instead of 4.8/5.3. Oh well, he should be able to use my crank and that should bring him up to 5.3 if he uses my rods too. I have a lot of body work to do on my 67' so engine stuff ins't that important to me anymore.

I'd suggest you go over to the performance truck forums (tab at top of page). Those guys can better answer your questions.
