Default How to reset Change oil light?

Stupid question but how do you reset the stupid Change Oil light? It came on tonight when i was coming home from work and i tried holding down the stupid trip meter thing and clicked it like 10 times and nothing.

Oh and i changed my oil last weekend so yea its got fresh oil

have the key on with the car off and hold the trick odo. button for 12 seconds

Or with the key on run but engine off. Push the gas pedal to the floor 3 times kinda fast, And it will reset the light

Hey thanks i guess it didnt reset cus i was driving while tryin to push and hold on the trip meter...but yea i thought thats how it worked.

Yes the gas pedal thing is serious. Both ways will work to reset the Oil Change light. Guess its up to you which you prefer. I don't like holding the odo way because then I reset my milage, and I need that since I keep track of my MPG.

That's how it works on my 99 truck. My T/A is a 98 though so it does not have an oil change light....

^ yeah most of the silverados you have to pump the gas pedal 3 times, on some models you do it with the controls on the steering wheel
