Default Taking trans out, do you support back of motor

I'm in the middle of doing an A4 to M6 swap, trans will be out for a couple of weeks, do you guys typically support the back of the motor, or just let it hang on the motor mounts? I know you can let it hang, I just don't like the idea of stress on the aluminm block mounting points, iron I wouldn't care as much....

Anybody have any quick tricks? (2X4 between firewall and back of heads etc?)

You can let it hang, it wont hurt anything, The stress would really just be on the rubber cushion in between the pads of the mount, But if you really want to support it you can, I would just use some 2x4 blocks or one cut to the right length. I have a 10$ bottle jack that I use to support my rear end when I have the car down for work, you could use that also, and you would have a spare jack whenever you need.

Let it hang. Letting the motor with trans attached unsupported would be more of an issue. But the motor by itself is fine
