Locked out of 2nd at WOT only Help!
I get locked out of 2nd at WOT only, I can shift 1-2 like butter with the clutch in at a stop light. Shifting normally at 2000-3000 it is a little hesitant to go into second.
I also tried to downshift to second from 3rd at a 15 mph coast with the clutch in and it grinded and did NOT like it.
The clutch is a SPEC stage 3 with 20-30K on it. It still hooks great with ET streets but it makes a metalic slip (squeel) noise once in a while when first engaging the clutch, especially the first time letting the clutch out in the morning.
My first thought is that it is clutch time, would a worn stage 3 that still hooks like a hooker possibly lock me out of 2nd at WOT ? Or should I be tearing into the t-56 and looking at syncros when I change the clutch?
It locks my buddy out of 2nd at WOT also, we are both experienced drivers.
So don't waste our time with that.
Yes the clutch is adjusted correctly there is a few mm. of free play in the pedal when it is not engaged, (that's how I got over 20K miles out of a stage 3, while beating the hell out of it)
So should I get into the trany when I change the clutch? Or does this sound like clutch only? Since it shifts like butter at a idle and stopped at a light?

An issue with a single gear typically evidences an issue inside the transmission. It could certainly be a syncro, or a pin or even a selector. You need to tear it down and take a look. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks,
