You'd be far better off cutting the springs than heating them. Heating them can make them brittle and prone to cracking/breaking. If a "cheap" lowering job is what you're after, I'd cut the springs WAY BEFORE I'd eat them, IMO.

DO NOT heat them. If your gonna be cheap, cut them.

For 25 bucks, is he gonna take them off of your car, and heat them, and re-install them? I doubt it. Have you ever taken the springs off an f-bod? It can be a nightmare if you dont have the right tools.

I am glad I swapped springs when I changed my shocks, because I never wanna do it again.

Until Jan. 4, THunder Racing is having a good sale on everything, Id give them a look...

I'm not a fan of cutting springs (stock springs, cutting race springs of a higher spring rate I can live with at times). I'd cut my springs before I ever went near them with a torch. Getting them all the same height is difficult and it anneals the spring, which makes is soft. When you remove the temper (anneal) spring steel, it will lose it's ability to retain it's shape. Meaning, it may keep getting lower and lower. I strongly advise against torching springs, ever.

My thoughts.
