Default Programmers/Tuners...Do You Know How I Can Do This?

I have a 04 5.3 truck PCM and harness that I converted for installing in an old Camaro. My original intentions were to set up the 5.3 in the Camaro and after all the hard work was done, change the 5.3 to whatever LS engine I wanted. This engine had a LS1 intake and injectors with the 5.3 DBW TB and ran great. I sold that motor and bought a 02 LS6. I have it set up in my engine test/run stand with the 5.3 electronics (DBW/TAC, etc.) but am having problems figuring out how to tune the PCM to run with the 5.3 DBW/TAC/TB but, with a LS6 tune. Everyone I've talked to around here (Dallas) doesn't have a clue. Most say just run a cable TB with a LS6 tune but, I have a lot of work in the harness and want to use DBW unless what I want to do is absolutely impossible. Can anyone here point me in the right direction to figure this out? Thanks

do you have any tuning software now? i would think you would want to use the 5.3 ecu so the tac and components would plug right in.

you might wanna try using the 5.3 tune but coping the VE table from the LS6 tune, If your using the 5.3 MAF, injectors, etc... use the 5.3 tune.

Everything is 5.3 except the injectors, intake and engine...

Change the engine dispacement and re-scale the injectors in the 5.3 tune and you'll have a decent starting point.

Are the reluctor wheels on the crankshaft the same? I think an 04 might have the newer style while the 02 should have the older style. If that is the case you will probably have to have a signal converter box. I think lingenfelter sells one.

just copy the VE and fuel injector and spark tables from the LS6 tune to the original 5.3 tune.

I just got my JET and guess I don't know enough to understand which parameters relate to the VE, fuel injector and spark tables. I'm thinking these may be under "constants", fuel and spark parameters in JET DS Tuner but, I don't know what VE is.

I just looked again and found spark and fuel tables and a way to import/export but there are a bunch in each one. Do I have to open each one and import/export each one individually? If you answer this, maybe you could tell me about VE tables.

JET won't import from (or compare with) a file with a different operating system. open the LM7 and LS6 files in separate copies of the JET editor. begin by copy/pasting appropriate tables/values manually from the LS6 file into the LM7 file...

All the tables in spark and fuel? What about VE? Is that vehicle emissions?

In what respect, short COS's (which most guys don't need) and number of vehicles supported?
I have both EFI and TC (actually RROBD2RTT) and unless it needs something like a SD tune or is a vehicle John@TC, doesn't support yet, I don't see the purpose of wasting a credit for a tune, when I don't need to.

PS Don't take this as bashing EFI, since I did upgrade to it from HP, even though I think its harder to use, not so much the tuning end as the scanning end of it, but I see Jet as a good inexpensive starting package for somebody wanting to learn
