Default T-Top divider bar fading

Mine looks crappy and oxidized. How can I make this look black again? Is it painted and I can respray it? It looks metal, but I am not 100% sure. It would be great if someone made a black vinyl piece for this or something.

What have you guys done for this part?

Nice, I tried claybarring, paint cleaner, pb, polish, wax, rubbing compound and nothing would make it look better. What did make it look GREAT was tire shine, but obviously that's not anywhere close to a permanent solution.

What kind of spray paint should I use and should I use clearcoat as well?

well I removed all the screws once, cause i was planning on taking off the t-top bar for when I was doing the sail panel stripes.... but I remember the t-top bar being held down pretty good... should I even bother w/ glues or should I just use the screws to retain its position? I feel like putting glue is overkill, but also some peace of mind... what your feelings?

ya if the sticky stuff doesnt get destroyed pullin it off just put it back on and screw it in nice and tight.. wasnt hard for me at all
the sticky tape stuff or whatever was on there holds it on pretty tight so it feels like its glued or somethin.. just slowly pry at it and try not to bent it at all

Just scuff it with a red scotch brite pad, or 400 grit paper, then use duplicolor acrylic enamal gloss black. If not shiney enough for you then some clear coat. Don't use 100, or 120 grit. it's way to rough and you'll have to prime and sand, or have big scratches in it.
