seeing as how i am using the truck accessory drive i thought this may help some of u guys out a little. i ended up using an alternator off of a 97 chev 1500 truck. it bolts up perfectly to the bracket and i only used the L terminal on the pigtail with a 10amp fused circuit which is supposed to go to a charge indicator in the 97 chev truck charging schematic, plus the normal red wire to the battery. got it brand new at NAPA not reman'd. part number 1n-4711. the only difference u can visually tell is that theres an additional ear for a support bracket which you will not need and the pigtail would be located towards the intake on the side not up top like the LS truck alternator.
