How are the HAL QA1's on the street?
I was just wondering how this setup was for the street? I just ordered a complete set today and wanted to know the pros and cons of these on the street. Will I have a problem with the springs that come with them? I hear they are super soft. I don't want to have any problems hitting my longtubes or k member. What settings do you guys find to be the best for the street and what do you use for the track. Thanks for all the advice guys.

I adjust them for street driving.
I put them around 6 (1-12 positions) which is like the stock 50/50 setting.
Try them on 8 (extra stiff) it's neat.
I don't like the QA1 front springs it makes the car nosedive too much but oh well. I would rather have kept the stock springs in front.

So you would rather have kept the stock springs in the car instead? I want to only do this once instead of twice. The springs are to light for street driving? Do you have a problem hitting your k member because of the nose dive? I thought this setup was suppose to be the best for track and street? I hope I did not throw away $700.00 for nothing?

to do this over again, i think i would have gone w/ the R seties fronts. they are supposed to be a true 90/10 shock rather than the regular fronts. it's the re-bound rate that kills ya on these. i love the adjustability, however, they dont plant the tires hard enough on the street. (just my opinion)

I have them all the way around on my '02 and front only on my '94. I keep them on a street (mid) setting and they are fine. (7 front, 6 rear)
With my '94, I kept the stock front springs and just modified the perches. (Thanks for the tips PSJ).
On my '02, I have the supposedly newer, smaller "Mustang" type coil-overs by QA-1 and they are not too bouncy. In fact, they are kinda stiff. I've been told that there were larger ones that first came out for the F-body and think those are the ones people are complaining about for street driving.

I'm hoping the R-Series 90/10 shocks I just got won't have that problem.

You do get some bounce with them on the street because of the springs. I keep them on 2 front 3 back for the street. For the track 1 front 2 back seems to work the best for me. The car does not ride as good as stock no matter what setting you use but the reward pays off for sure. I am not sure how well the shocks work with stock springs or others. But I am happy with my setup.
