Default 25.5 Mustang Coupe project.

I've owned several Fox Mustangs, but never a Coupe. And since I had a spare engine from another project that I was not going to use, I decided to put it to good use and build this car; 1993 Mustang Coupe.

I got it all stripped out and ready for the cage, and tubs. Please don't laugh at my home made car dolly's.

Wolf mini tubs going in. One down and one to go. I should have both in by this weekend. Then I can start mocking up the LCA mounts. I got a little aggressive with the overall housing length. I had Moser cut off 3.5" per side and leave off the LCA brackets so I could custom fit those myself. I'm hoping I can get a 12" rim and 325" behind the wheel well lip... We'll see.

OK... Both tubs are spot welded in, so that's basically done. And I hung the housing from the upper mounts to see where my LCA brackets will need to go and it looks like it won't be a problem. So then I lowered the car and stuck a 325 DR in the wheel well to see how all that would clear... It fits great, and below is the look I'm shooting for.. I'll order a Strange brake kit next week and mount them up for real to see "for sure" what back spacing I'm going to need...

Nice stance. That 325 looks huge on the car.

I got some work done on the back of the car. I got all off the rear floor area rough cut out in preparation for all of the roll cage tubing, anti-roll bar set-up and coil over shock mounts. At this point, I'm pretty much at a stand still until Wolf ship my through floor sub-frame connectors...

Man you are doing a fine job on that car. It is a clean car also. I'll be keeping tabs on this build.

Thanks, JR. I just received the full length Wolf through floor sub-frame connectors, and I'll be putting those in next week. After those are in, I can start putting in the cage. I also got all the front suspension stuff coming from RaceCraft... It should be here next week so I can start mocking that up too. I'll post a few more pics once that starts going together.

Well, I got a little carried away, and now this will be a 25.2 cert car, not a 25.5. It's coming along pretty good and I should be done by the end of next week, if all goes well.

The cage is still under construction but I got the front and rear suspension is mocked up. Now I'm working on the rear anti-roll bar set-up.

Thanks, guys. And yes, the AFCO shocks are better, but they were not in the budget for this project. It won't be a big HP car, relatively speaking... 700-ish, NA... And 900-ish with nitrous.

And I got the anti-roll bar set-up mocked up (It's just tacked welded in so don't beat me up about the welds) Other than that, I'm very pleased with it and the way it all came out. It's super strong and all the moving parts are easy to get to and removable... Note the splines at the end of the shaft. You can clock the arms 360 degrees for any arm angle and down bar length.

The cage is DONE! I still have to put in the floor and mount the seats but the cage is finished. As I said above, I'm going for a 25.2 & 25.3 Cert tag. (Both weight classes covered)

That is a good deal. No matter how fast it goes, you are covered..

I take it you have been at this whole fabbing thing for a while now. The work is really nice.

What kind of power plant are you thinking of running at this point?
