Default 98-00 Z28/6speed for 5k???

Alright fellas its true, after not owning/driving an LS1 Fbody for 2.5 years.... I want back behind the driver seat. There's just nothing like them... the power, dependability, style, viciousness.... and I just want that back.

In about 4-6 months my truck is getting sold to a family member for $3500. Its a great truck, gets great mileage, super reliable, the 4l60E went 117k before I had it rebuilt. And ive never had a problem running it as a DD, really nice to have. So nice the person I let borrow it is gonna buy it from me. So my DD will/has to be an LS1 Z28! I know what your thinking, if YOU had 2 cars the F-body wouldn't be your DD. But when I had my WS6 I got 28-31MPG's on the Highway and 20 in the city when i was nice to it.

Now... do you experts thinkg I can find a 98-00 Z28 6-Speed with under or around 100k miles. leather or cloth doesn't matter much to me, BUT I do prefer black over any other factory color. Though I really wish Ivan would sell me his car as a roller. So do you experts think I can can find myself one for $5000 or less??? the less mods the better IMO so i can do my own work the way I want. (it will be my DD but will still be modded )

They pop up every now and then. Most of the cheaper 98+ LS1 cars are auto though. MSS91Z28 got his for less than five g's I believe, and it's a 6 speed. Just gotta find the right deal at the right time.

There was a 98' SOM in Thoudsand Oaks for $4200 when i was looking for cars. It was clean as hell but had high miles. So they are deff. out there, if you are willing to wait and keep looking. I ended up getting the silver SS in my sig for $6K with 99k on it.

Hell there is one in the western class. that just went up in that price range, you might be able to work something out.

He's asking 7k but I know from talking to him he will go lower. 86k miles and stock besides a Borla catback. I was thinking about buying it and using as a DD but I decided to hold out for a newer SS. I told him car books for 4500 he told me to throw him an offer.

Also I'm willing to bet this is a scam but came across this earlier..

Ridiculously good deal if everything checks out..

Why not just put those 5gs in the impala 96capricemgr does what 11.6s? He daliy drives his caprice and he reports iirc about 20mpgs. Than she'll really make people think twice. Cuz if you get an fbody your gonna wanna mod it. And u can't have two cars like that or well its hard to. I can't even do one. But that's my opinion.

Yep got mine for $3800. It was on craigslist for $5500 for like 6 months and i offered him $3800 and he took it. It's a nbm '98 Z28 6 speed, 114,000 miles, inside and out clean as hell.

It's actually an ls7 clutch that came with it. And the stock clutch is fine. I just flushed the clutch fluid and that made it golden.

I still have the ls7 clutch kit in my garage though for when i add more power

Yea at first he had it at 5500, then 5000, then 4500, then 4200, and at that point was when I offered him the 3800. It's a buyers market thats for sure. No one had the cash for those six months so i was able to take advantage of it.

2 cars are better than one.... look at it this way. Where would you be if you couldn't borrow your parents car to get around? And my impala is still gonna get work done to it, but I like it too much to drive around all the time.
