Default Need help with 60'

so I finally got to the track after getting my car running right and I'm not happy with the results. I haven't had my car tuned since all the mods in my sig so I wasn't expecting miracles, but i hate my 60'. I was hooking good with my Nitto's and LCA's so I don't understand why my 60' is not so good.

1st Run:

60' - 2.085
330 - 5.672
1/8 - 8.558
MPH - 85.97
1000' - 11.052
1/4 - 13.165
MPH - 107.06

2nd Run:

60' - 2.054
330 - 5.653
1/8 - 8.550
MPH - 85.70
1000' - 11.047
1/4 - 13.166
MPH - 106.60

3rd Run: (Played with the 2-3 shift and wasn't happy with it so changed it back after this run)

60' - 2.054
330 - 5.682
1/8 - 8.598
MPH - 85.19
1000' - 11.102
1/4 - 13.228
MPH - 106.29

The DA last night was 2051 so definately not good air. I just don't understand my 60' times. If i'm hooking I should be getting better 60's right? The one thing I'm happy about is my consistency. This was my 2nd time ever racing at a track.

I was coming off the line at what i'm thinking is about 1200 rpm....i don't know for sure though because my Tach/Speedo are off pretty bad. Once I get my scan gauge I'll get acurate data on this though since mt PCM reads correctly (i don't have gears and i have stock size tires).

With a stock converter, and an open y pipe your 60 isn't going to be very good. You aren't making the torque you should with 0 back pressure, and the conveter is holding your 60 ft. down.

After typing all of this I relised I don't know if it is a manual or auto. If manual then lauching at a highe rpm and still hooking will help your 60 big time just like a conveter.

it's in my sig. 98 A4 (automatic)....but yeah...my buddies keep getting on me to get some back pressure...and i figured a stall would help some.

Do you have 2.73 gears? Put in 3.42's, that will help you and/or get a converter

Sorry I looked in your sig a few times and didn't see the A4. Converter and some exhaust and you will drop .5-.7 if you do both.

Best way to drop that 60' is
-Drag Radials
-Stall
-Gears (All 6 speed cars (other than 93 lt1 cars - 3.23's) have 3.42 gears and can be found online for about $200-$500
-As for the exhaust, Just put a Bullet Muffler after the Y-Pipe and you'll be fine!

And Suspension Will ALWAYS help! Here is a solid combo of parts to drop that 60' ALOT! But it will cost Some $ thats for sure. Just remember you have to pay to play!
-LCA's, Relocation Brackets, Chassis Mounted Tq. Arm, SFC's, PHB, And Drag Shocks in Rear And Adj. Struts in Front with 300lb. or 275lb. Springs depending on if it's a street/strip car or a race car.
You'll have a couple thousand $'s in suspension if you do it RIGHT!
But you can always find good deals when you buy it all used!

Good Luck with it and Hope you get that 60' Down soon.
