Default Mercedes/BMW AC & PS accessory swap

Looking at doing an LS swap in a german import. Searching showed a couple threads mentioning using the GM power steering pump and/or AC compressor with the german components.
So my question is will the GM power steering pump work ok with the import system? How about a GM variable displacement or Sanden on/off compressor?
Btw, looking at some cheap 380SLs for a swap.

That'll be a sweet ride. 4 door, super comfy suspension, Leather, AC. I can see it
I put together a german LS project but I didn't have enough space for the power steering so I just used an electric Toyota MR2 PS pump.

AC lines can be spliced by taking the stock lines attached to the car (going to drier, condenser) and cutting off the german ends and TIG'ing the LS a/c ends on. It works, it's cheap, and you'll most likely have both the lines and the ends if you buy a complete motor. My buddies idea, he did it in his LS408 F/I S10 truck. I'm doing it in my car asap.

Cheers

I'm more concerned about if the LS variable displacement compressor is compatible with a mid 80s benz system. Kinda thinking a sanden compressor with aftermarket system myght be the best choice.

Hey, my last LS swap was a 68 vette. Kinda like the classic lines and chrome. And figured a 380SL with an LS and a 5 speed manual could be a fun ride too. Dont tell me you're one of those damn kids that like plastic bumpers....If so...get off my lawn! lol
