Smoking after new muffler install?
Today I had Dynomax bullets put on and a high flow cat put on my y-pipe. My old setup was a Flowmaster with 100k on it and rusty rattling welds. It sounds amazing. I drove a mile from the muffler shop to the gas station and walked around it while it idled. No problems. I drove home another mile and when I got out it was smoking out of the exhaust. Mostly white smoke, maybe a touch of blue. I'm almost positive it wasn't oil, it kind of smelled like fireworks. Not super thick, but enough of it that you could still see it after it rose 10-15 feet. This cant be good, right? I shut it off after about 10 seconds. I'm afraid to start it now, I don't want to cause additional damage.
My mods are in my sig. I have about 300 miles on the cam and headers without a tune. I'm hoping the problem isn't because of that. Could it be something burning off the mufflers or the cat converter? Could it be dirt or something from the exhaust work? Seems like a crazy coincidence if the smoke isn't from the exhaust work. ANY HELP, IDEAS, SUGGESTIONS, EXPIERENCES?
