Default Putting a LT1 in a 1985 Buick Regal

Hey guys I am new here and I had a question. Is it possible to put a LT1 engine in a 1985 Buick Regal?

the LT1 swap is pretty popular with the Monte Carlo SS guys so maybe start there?

Why bother with the LT1, the gen 3 and 4 ls series engines are better all the way around the board, even the 4.8 is a better performer than the LT1. I did a 396 LT1 in my Malibu 3 years ago, and a LS1 in my Caprice last year, and let me tell you that if I would have known then(3 yrs ago) what I know now, then I would've left the LT1 sitting on the floor. The optispark distributor alone is enough to give way to the LS, and Vortec engines, and even more so when you get into the power potential and cylinder head design of the newer engines. This is just my $0.02!
