Default Cam reccomendations for an Lq4/Lq9??

So i recently put a rod through the block of my stock cam only ls1 motor and have decided I am going to drop in either an lq4 or lq9, whichever I can find a decent deal on. I have a custom grind cam in my old motor but want to go bigger for this one. Anyone have expierence with these motors or any reccomendations on a good cam? I have a 231/235 in the old motor that I want to get rid of so I was thinking of stepping up to something in the ms4 range. I really would like a g5x4 but can't seem to find any for sale and don't want to pay $500 just for a camshaft from LG. Any recomendations or advice is welcome

It really depends how big of a cam you are looking for. The MS4 is a great cam as long you are looking for something that large. You might also take a look at our Tsunami camshaft, we have had some great results with that cam as well. Something very important to remember is to try and get some compression in the motor. Compression really picks the power number up on these motors.

ya i would call the guys there at texas speed and tell them if you plan on milling the heads, what your race weight will be, what gears you have, and what your goal for the car will be. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

Once I have a motor and am ready to buy a camshaft I definetly planned on calling Texas speed to ask you guys your reccomendations. I can't say enough how much i respect the way you guys do business and the customer service I have seen is awsome so if I can find the right choice through you guys I'd be happy. Anyone have info about the Vindicator from vengence? I really like the specs and performance I have seen and it seems to compare pretty well with the ms4 and G5x4. Again any other suggestions are welcome as well
