Default Head casting#

94 casting #10141A heads ...worth a damn as an upgrade from 93lt1 stock heads ...say if they are: three angle valve job'd , have performance duel valve springs, ported and polished,fluxed and milled?

i have my eye on some............thx for your thoughts

Thats not the part number and the heads are pretty much all the same anyway.

They say the 93-95 are the better heads because more materail to work with

the last digits will be 347 or 673 check them again. When you take off the valve cover thats where you will see the numbers

Yes 93-96 are better because 97s went with 561 castings and are thinner with less material. They are still good but not that great for highly modified engines, Boost esecially.

ok guy says gm part# is 10123374....im guessing thats makes em 374's?...so back to my orig question...

Not to sound like an *** but you really don't have an original question. Are the 374's what you have now, or are those the heads your looking at buying? Also if they are the ones you are looking at, what casting number heads do you have now?

To be honest, there is some decent information already in this thread, you just have to apply it to your situation. Do a little bit of reading around on here, there are some guys going very fast on ported stock GM heads. But to answer what I think you question is, just have the heads that you currently own sent out to be ported and polished and cleaned up. Unless you have the 561 heads, then those 374's might not be a bad idea. Then again, it also depends on what all has been done to those other heads and how much you are paying for them.
