Default LQ4 Express Vans vs. Trucks

What are the differences between the LQ4s removed from trucks vs the ones removed from vans?

Is the ECU different (other than flashing)?
Are the accessory mounts different?
Are sensors located in different locations?
Is the oil pan different?

I am interested in a drive-by-cable setup and I've seen a few van LQ4s avalable. Thanks for any info or a link if you know of a thread I should look at.

What years are you comparing

Work vans were usually the last vehicles to upgrade to the latest version of LSx technology (ex: DWB) so they are usually comparable and often identical to 1-2 year older trucks

PCMs for vans get classified in with trucks. Go by the service number
Accessories are the same in almost all instances
Sensors are in the same location except for the MAF from the engine bay differences. A few non-critical sensors and modules (ex: ABS) also moved to fit the engine bay
Pans are the same as trucks

The vans were also still DBW till at least 2006. The trucks went DBW in 2003.

Everything else is basically the same. Save for the airbox etc...

I have a red/green harness from an '04 express van and need to find a computer to work with it without re-pining everything. When I go out on car-part.com and look for an ECU, it pops up with everything from full sized truck, astro, s10, and full sized van.

I am worried about this not working out since 04 trucks had dbw, not dbc like my harness is. Is this going to cause me to re-pin the harness, or any other problems I should look out for?

I asked a programmer if he could modify one from an astro and he replied
"can program a computer from an astro, however you would have to have a
crank shaft position sensor relearn procedure done once you get it running.
It will let engine run fine, but check engine light will come on untill you
get it done. Scan tool must be used, I have only used the GM Tech 2 to do
the job, but others could likely do it. The learn procedure requires use of
park/neutral switch, and brake pedal switch for learn to work"

Sounds like might be a problem with the lq4 in the nova
thanks
