Default painted wheel question

i recently bought some wheels that were painted black and am wondering what is the easiest and safest way to take off the paint so i dont mess up the chrome underneath the paint.

Are you going to the leave the wheels as polished chrome or are you going to repaint them? Paint stripper would be your best bet, but don't scrape off the old paint with a tool/scraper. After you apply the paint stripper, wait for it to work then use a hose or a mild power washer to remove the old paint so you don't scratch up the chrome. Then you can use some brake cleaner to go over the spots that didn't completely come off, just use a clean soft cloth to avoid scratching. Then you can just clean the wheels then polish up the chrome or repaint them again.

if they are painted and done right, then they should have been scuffed for the paint to stick, so the chrome underneith might be ruined, if they are polished then you can just repolish them!!!
