Anything Amsoil makes is good, but I personally wouldn't waste the money on them. I believe they are pretty expensive..

The AC Delco Gold filters are GREAT, and you can pick one up for about 8 bucks at your local hardware store. Thats what I have used on all my F-bodys..

As long as you stick to a good name like Purilator, or AC Delco you'll be fine. Stear clear of Fram.....

Hey if you go to amsoil.com and become a preferred customer, you will get the amsoil filter for around 7.45 a piece. If your a first time preferred customer they will wave the $10 fee for a 6 month membership. I did that and bought enough synthetic for the whole drivetrain of both my vehicles for about 3 yrs.

hope that helps

Their oil filters are pretty good but you can get better ones for less money. Such as the Wix (which is also under the NAPA Gold/Carquest Premium name), or the Bosch Premium. I also like the K&Ns a lot but they are pricey.

Amsoil makes good products, but their advertising practices are very misleading and in some cases downright lies (such as some of their oil tests comparing themselves to Mobil 1, but showing completely false data on Mobil 1)

On this site here:

http://www.oilsandlube.com/they_say_...rforms_mob.htm

they list the specs for Amsoil and Mobil 1, but list totally false data! They claim M1s flash point is 435F, not true, it's 455. They list M1s TBN at 8.45, not true again, I've seen independant oil analysis showing TBN of as high as 16.5 for M1!

Like I said, Amsoil is good oil, but their constant misrepresentation of their competition is very shady business practice. Their oil does show good oil analysis results, but not spectacular. It is not the best oil ever made, but they'd lead you to believe it is. And their claims of being able to go 25-35,000 miles are totally misleading too, as only about 1% of users would be able to push it that far. I've seen some pretty scary Amsoil oil analysis results where someone would try to push it past 15k and the oil was toast.
