Default New to the LS1 way of life need some help

Hey everyone,

I have been looking for a camaro SS or Z28 for a while for a decent price and i found one.

http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/1788082161.html

i offered the guy 5700 what do you all think? decent?

also if he takes the 5700 it leaves me enough left over to get this

http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/pts/1786479306.html

for a nice procharger build.

any thoughts?

If not what is the best first upgrade for the car that i should do? I would like a cam and head package, really want a forged bottom end. Any thoughts?

The price he's asking for it the way it sits is totally fair. If you can get it cheaper, by all means go for it. But if the guy knows what he has, he'll never go for that price.

As far as headers go, they are all about the same, just make sure you get long tubes. Some cost a lot more than others and might make a few more hp and fit a little. Pacesetter makes a great product at a very good price and almost everyone who has them has nothing bad to say. The only other thing to consider when buying headers is if you want painted, ceramic coated or stainless steel. There is tons of info in the "bolt on" forum.
