Default Need the part # for the Solenoid

98 ls1 t56 6spd
can't shift into reverse without forcing it with 2 hands
if i replace that same blown fuse, yes i can shift into reverse easily/normal
then it blows the fuse again which is the same fuse for some cpu part so my car is constantly showing the engine service light

i keep getting confused which solenoid it is

do u have to drop the tranny to pull the solenoid out?

pic

thank you , i know the search function is my friend no one really types the solenoid gm part # so i can just order it and stop with this mess

Order it from a sponsor that carries Tremec parts; it'll be cheaper.

Lowering the trans. down will help removal / installation significantly but you won't ~have to~ drop the trans. out of the car.

The GM p/n for the Reverse Lockout solenoid used to be 12523300. The seal p/n used to be 12523293. Neither shows up on the parts sites that I've used. You might find this thread interesting though:

And this thread talks about your exact problem. But no real fix was listed besides replace the solenoid:
