Default New Engine

Looks like the engine was replaced in this GTO based on the GMVIS report. Any ideas how I could find what dealership did the work and why it was done? Is there any possibility that it was not replaced with a brand new, GM engine? How could I tell if the engine matches the car ("numbers matching")?

I was hoping someone here could log onto their system for me. I'll call the dealer on Monday.
