LY6 pressure relief valve
I recently swapped my LY6 oil pan for a F-body pan and noticed the pressure relief valve. I assume this valve is needed to maintain a max pressure for the VVT system.
I would like to know for sure if I need to drill and tap my new pan for this valve. I am betting I should.
thanks,
Jim

Here is the link from the Gen IV internal with a pic.

I just got off the phone with the tech line at MAST MOTORSPORTS. I asked him if its needed for the VVT and he didn't know and thought I was referring to the oil level sensor. Once he came back, he said it was just a pressure relief valve (which we all know all ready)
I would think (hope) he would relay that it was on a VVT engine when he asked someone within the right department. Lets hope its the correct answer.
