valvetrain check spring w/ hydraulic lifter to check correct pushrod length?
I was thinking and maybe somebody has already said this, but instead of changing your hydraulic lifter to a solid lifter to measure what pushrod you need, couldn't you just use a valvetrain check spring with your hydraulic lifter. As long as the valvetrain check spring is weaker than your hydraulic lifter this will work. Right? Or am I missing something.

The light checker spring works close but still is not as accurate as a converted solid lifter.
If it were me, I would pull the intake (20 minutes tops) and make a solid lifter and do it the right way and sleep well.
It takes very little to compress the internal lifter spring inside a non pumped up lifter and if it compresses when you are checking, it throws off the results.
