I was rtacing my freinds EVo this morning. We went from like 35-40. I dropped from 5th to 2nd at this speed. I missed 3rd for the first ever since i have owned the car. I could hear the gear grind BAD!! I smell this bad smell for at least 10 minutes down the road to my house. When i Left for work tonight i still can smell it when i really get on it, like when i get on the ramp to the interstate at 80mph in like 3rd goin to 4th. Basically at 3500-5000 rpm i can smell it bad. and the gears dont shift smooth at all. Help me me out!!!

I have the same problem except I can smell the clutch only for like a minute after shifting hard. And damn it hurts inside when I missed 3rd gear and it grinds. I missed 3rd over and over and over and well you get the point. I think I need a mgw shifter ASAP.

so the smell, is the gear or the clutch goin out?

it been couple hours, does it still smell ? how the car shift now ?

now it barely shifts into gears. Reverse is nearly impossible. Shifts at lower rpm(2700-3300) are ruff!!! takinging off is hard too!
