Default A-body firewall flexes with S&P master cylinder mount

I know a lot of people copy the S&P clutch master cylinder mount, and I did, too. When I push the clutch pedal in the firewall flexes a good bit. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do to fix it?

. have seen people do a brake cylinder stopper but not sure how it will work with a clutch master. a couple plates that sandwich on the inside and outside of the fire wall would help to get a bigger load area also

If the clutch works OK then why is it a problem?

I made mine out of 1/4" steel and I have not noticed any. But if I was going to build another one, I would use a thicker maybe 5/16" next time.
