Default coolant crossover passenger leak

So i finally put on a used stock head on the passenger side cause my old one had a stripped spark plug hole. and last night i just about finished everything and put on the banjo bolt for the crossover coolant tube that runs behind the heads. I bought new metal/rubber seals about the same size as the stock ones and tightened everything back up then ran 50/50 antifreeze through the radiator and it started leaking BAD out of the passenger side...i spent about $15 on new seals cause the one that mates between the tube and head kept dropping and didnt know where they went lol. but anyways i just cut out a snug gasket out of a gasket sheet and put some red rtv high temp silicone on it(making sure i didn't put too much cause i was kind of scared that too much would block the holes of the banjo bolt). I let it sit and it's been about 24 hours, tonight i'm going to put some water in the system and see what happens...if this cheap fix doesn't work what do you guys recommend?
