Default Ready to start buying motor/parts for a rebuild

My car has 152,000 miles on it. Runs fine, but I would really like to get started on a replacement motor. I figure I should start by finding a low mileage short block, or maybe find a wrecked car. I had also thought about saving money up and when this engine *****, buying a formula or something that needs a bunch of work and just pulling the engine. Selling the rest of the parts, which would be annoying. Basically I would like to have a near complete engine ready to drop in to my car. Whats my best route?
