Default Fix my rear pinion seal leak, help me remove all the grease and oil

My pinion seal was leak for some time now, and my rear diff is full of grease, some on the exhault, some on the firewall top of the drive shalf, what is best way to remove all the grease and oil that stuck their, thanks ?

1: if I spray some engine degreaser and spray it down with water on the rear diff , will water get into my rear diff ?

2: will brake cleaner damage or eat up rear diff cover gasket ? or pinion seal gasket ?

3: will brake engine degreaser damage or eat up rear diff cover gasket ? or pinion seal gasket ?

Just spray it with degreaser i like simple green let it sit for a while and wipe it down and repeat, you could spray it with a hose but youre just gonna end up with a mess
