Default Tune Question!

Okay so this guy I know we raced he has a 2002 a4 convertible, and I beat him in my car, he has stock manifolds, and a converter, he went and got a tune will this help him any?

Sure it will help him, but you should still beat him. Not much of a comparison really. Look at your mod list and look at his. Exhaust wise, you have no restriction at all (was worth 5 tenths in the 1/4 when I did this). He's still stock in that department (big disadvantage). You're a 6 speed so you don't need to worry about him having a converter. Then you have some air intake (lid, throttle body) and all sorts of suspension mods. Apples vs. Oranges if you ask me.

A stalled auto will come out of the hole alot harder than that M6 but if it is a roll race then you should be fine.

You're telling me a stalled, stock suspension'd automatic is going to get out of the hole harder than a M6 car with an almost complete suspension when he can probably clutch dump around 3 or 4 grand? I have a hard time believing that, but I guess I could be way off base. Based on mod lists... this race shouldn't even be close, tune or no tune.

Yes. The race is more than likely on the street and judging by the question he doesn't sound well informed on cars and racing.

Both cars are pretty much stock.

OP was your car tuned for that MAF?
