All '98+ V8 f-bodies (Formula/Formula WS6, TA/TA WS6, Z28, B4C and SS) all have the LS1. Your '01 Formula was rated 310 HP by GM. Minor tweeks the LS1 received in '01 that accounted for 5 more HP rating than '98-'00 was the LS6 intake and EGR delete.
Note that I emphasized "rated" above. In reality, all LS1s made around 350 crank HP, +/- YMMV.

that is weird. does it move or stay like that. is it RPM, speed, throttle position dependent........gas gauge, NOS bottle level, temperature, pressure. could be anything. take the console apart and trace the wire, see where it goes. or just ask the previous owner.

i seriously doubt someone installed a 'power/economy' switch in an LS1. i doubt its even possible. ask the previous owner first. if thats no answer, take the console apart and follow the wires. it may be an alarm, ignition kill switch, auxiliary fuel pump, etc.

Another thing were trying to figure out. It has a wet nos system and the switch below the steering wheel. When is the nos supposed to kick on? A certain rpm or what?

IMO, you'd better look for a different ride.
You may be explodin' it before you get much enjoyment out of it.
Are you buying directly from the previous owner, or thru some dealer?
If a dealer, ..., do you have the direct contact info for the previous owner?
