Default three bolt or single?

I found a short block and it needs a cam still and probably the cam gear. While looking through cams, it asked if I had a single bolt or three bolt.

the block is an ls1 block with forged pistons and h beam rods and a stock crank.

I also am running ls6 heads with dual valve springs.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

You have a 3 bolt cam, the newer engines went to the single bolt.

^^Bingo! GM started putting single bolt cams in engines around 2008.
