Grand Sport wheels on darker cars
I have a rarer color (Cayenne Red) and I've given thought to putting the black Grand Sport wheels on.
Anyone have pics of the black G.S. wheels on a darker car? Cayenne Red would be preferable, but with it such an uncommon color, I don't expect anyone to have one with them.
P.S., I've seen them on pewter and silver cars.

Re: Grand Sport wheels on darker cars
Personally, i dont like the GS wheels, i'd just rather have the ZR-1s and have 'em shiney as hell, but thats my .02.
On red vehicles, they dont look too bad, and i believe there are a few members of this board w/ GS style rims on their rides.

Just today a little bit after i read your post, i saw these rims on a Camaro, and i thought of you, lol. It wasn't your color, but it was a deep red, maroon, almost purple like color with 2 black stripes, adn the shiny black GS wheels. Boy did that puppy look FINE .

Thanks 2 good.
Raven, mine came from the factory with the 16" chrome plated 5 spokes. I yanked them within hours of owning the car as they looked too...well....ghetto/bling bling.
I like the black ones on your car BTW.

Heres a pic of the '93, it's not the best pic, but you get the idea. Let me know if you want any others.

See, I need to see one of those then!
I currently have the nice silver ZR1/SS style on their now and I love it, but I recently saw a red SS with black G.S. wheels and needed a cigarette afterwords.

Re: Grand Sport wheels on darker cars
I had black grand sports on my '93 Z28. The color of my car was dark green/grey metallic. To say the least, it looked sharp. I have some pictures that I'll post in a few hours as soon as I get some BS work out of the way.
I say get the wheels. Granted, a lot of people will not like them, but its your car.

I have Black ZR-1's on my car (click on link in sig.) I have seen red cars with black wheels, and I think they look good too.
However, I think chrome wheels would look best with your color combination though - I love that deep dark metallic red
That's my 2 pennies,

Re: Grand Sport wheels on darker cars
I have the black ZR1 wheels on my pewter SS convt. If you would like to see it, it will be in the World Of Wheels car show at the Mccormick Place at the end of this January. I am looking to sell them so just look for the car.

Will do Greg. I think I may have seen yours running around Glenview awhile back cause I remember a pewter with black wheels' SS. How much you looking to sell them for?
2 Good, looks great. Did you use the silver center cap covers?

Re: Grand Sport wheels on darker cars
I bought my wheels from AFS Couldn't be happier with them. They mounted and balanced the wheels and tires (dunlop SP 8000s) and I even got free shipping (this was a special they had two years ago). Customer service was great - they answered all my questions and were always polite (unlike some phone reps at other companies....ahem ...cough! - SLP - cough!). Great deal and quality wheels

I take it you're not happy with SLP?
I'd like to keep 9.5" all the way around. DO you have to order them 2 9.5" and 2 11"? I also have the tires. I'd just switch my GS-C's from my current ones.

Re: Grand Sport wheels on darker cars
You can order all four wheels 91/2 x 11 with or without tires. I think you are stuck with the Corvette center caps though - at least that was the case when I ordered mine.

Re: Grand Sport wheels on darker cars
Excellent, thanks.
I think I can whip up some black center caps with just a red bowtie.

Re: Grand Sport wheels on darker cars
I think 4 of the 9.5" wheels saves you only $50. The 11" look so much sweeter
