Default Intermittent backfire through exhaust at low rpms

This may actually be related to my exhaust but I thought I'd start here first.

I have a 2001 Z06 with full bolt-ons, headers, and a cam. This weekend, I developed an intermittent backfire at low rpms. When it backfired, it almost always occurred when the vehicle came to a stop and began the idle routine. There was one occasion where it backfired accelerating from a stop (low RPM there too). I'm running NGK TR6 plugs that I installed earlier this summer. They were installed with the intention of installing a nitrous kit, that I haven't got around to doing.

I know I should pull the plugs and datalog the car. However, I won't be able to do either for a few days and thought I'd poll the forum for insight in the mean time.

TIA

I guess I've found a new symptom for LSx powered cars?

I think my problem has to do with the AIR system so if you already removed AIR ignore this.

I've been having a problem lately that has caused my car to run rough in certain closed loop cruise conditions. It also has back fired a little bit. I believe the problem is in the AIR - extra air is getting in probably because the check valve is shot, and that screws up the O2 reading, which screws up the fuel trim on 1 bank. I'll try to fix it (remove AIR) this weekend if possible and see if my problem goes away.

I still have the AIR valves on the engine but I have the system and codes disabled in the PCM.
