Who has gotten gears after their converter? What gear did you go to and what STR is your converter? What were your gains or losses with the gears?

With a 3200 vig went with 3:73 gears and now with 4200 Yank I have gone with 4:10's. I like the taller gears for the 1/4 mile--not much for street--but I don't worry about that. The 3:73 gears are a good around gear for an automatic. Good luck in the decision process. Cheers...........

i switched from 2.73 to 3.42 after installing my 3400 2.5 STR TCS converter. saw a couple tenths improvement. 3000-3800 stall with 3.42s are one of the best all around/most streetable setups IMHO.

Back in the day when i was a bolt on car i use to run a vig3600 and 2.73s I would cut high 1.6s on et streets. I switched to 3.42s with the same converter and started 60fting high 1.5s bolt on only.

Does anyone think that 3.42s would be a huge no no w/ the 3200 2.8 converter on ET Streets?
Last season, I didn't 60' well and that was not lack of traction car was stock w/ a cutout, lid, converter 7 ET Streets or Nittos. This year I am doing headers & catback & probably a cam.
