Default problem car banging out at high rpms

My car starts banging from 5500-6500 rpms maybe a tune problem?

mis and cutouts at high RPM's are usually coil or opti. Go to Shbox.com and do the opti test to see if that is your problem. I think most advance auto and auto zone's can test a coil to see if it is ok. Hope this helps!

I changed the opti connector cause the wires were bare but that didn't fix it could it be the computer or the transmission??

Hopefully you find your prob as I have been chasing a high rpm prob for a few months now....

Check the cheapest things first and move on....

Plugs
Wires
Coil
ICM
Opti

I don't know if the PCM would do that but if it can I guess I need to check mine too...

gap your plugs down to 35 and see if that helps..it helped me out alot i went to a colder plugg and gapped it down and it works fine tell my opti took a crap on the dyno..lol gl man
