Default port on intake??

Hi guys! Im new at this forum and not fimiliar with the ls1. I've resently purchased an 98 ls1 pullout from a camaro. I planing a swap it into a rx7. My question in that there's a port in front of the ls1 intake near the throtle body. The port is on the drivers side. Can anyone tell me what is this port for and can I run the motor buy pluging this port. The hose that was attached to this port was cut when the motor was taken out of the camaro. Any info is greatly appreciated. thanks! Ariel

Are you talking about the EGR on top of the intake manifold?
