Default auto shifter connection

Bought an LS2 engine & trans to put into my 55 Olds 88 & the only thing they didn't give me was the automatic shifter assembly.

I found one (2005/2006 GTO) but have a question.

Do the electrical connections from the sifter hook into the main engine/trans harness or the dash harness?

Just making sure I'm not missing another part that I'll need to hunt for.

Thanks!

Joe

If it's a 4L60E trans that you are installing then put a MLPS switch on the trans and wire the park/ neutral safety into the ECU and wire the reverse into your reverse lights. Most of the newer GM shifters no longer have the connections in them. They moved it onto the side of the trans.

Yep, 4L60E. I'll look into the MLPS switch. I do have the complete un-cut engine and trans harness that was on the car.

I'll pick up a shifter assembly and go from there.

Thanks!
