6.0 build HELP
hi everyone, i have a 2000 Trans Am 6 speed and i was thinking about putting in the lq4 6.0 motor i have in my garage. i am looking to get as much hp as possible without going overbored with money. can anyone help with a build. what compression should i be going for? what heads should i put on? it has 317 heads but i also have a set of 241 heads and 862 heads. what cam should i go with? i like the lope but also am wanting hp. i have a comp 222 224 is that maybe worth using? what about internals, manifold, fuel rail/injectors? i would like all the help i can get. thank you so much. after getting some input i will post pics through out the build process

I'll save ya the trouble man .... Just start searching for LQ4 builds on here , you'll find something . Also you want to make big power then stroke it , put at BIG cam in it and shoot for higher compression than the factory level by throwing either those 241's on it , some LS2 heads or some aftermarket heads with smaller chambers . Just my .02 .

If you are willing to do a little bit of work to the heads i would go with the 241's because they would probably give you the best over all compression and flow. The 317 are a very large chamber but flow very good and are excellent in a boosted situation. They will also give you i think 9.5:1 compression. The 862 heads are a 5.3 head and Will give you roughly 10.7:1 compression but they do not flow as well as the others. It really depends on what your final goals are. I am running a set of 862 but am thinking of swapping to something else and also have a set of 317 sitting on the side. I hope this helps you narrow down on your choice of heads but im in the same boat myself.
