228R vs Torquer v.2
So I've just purchased an 06' Goat A-4 transmission, and already am itching to tear into her innards. I've decided I don't want to go as big a cam as I had with my Trans/Am (G5x3). Youtube has showcased many assorted speed shops cams with an array of exhaust setups. Anyway, I've liked the sounds of the TR228 on a 112 through Spintech Super Pros. I found another possibility in the Torquer v.2 TSP cam. I don't really wanna go over 600 lift as it's my daily driver, and don't wanna worry about going through valvesprings like a coke head does coke
Any thoughts on these cams? Or maybe other suggestions would be appreciated

Spoke to Sean at Texas Speed and he informed me that running the Torquer V.3 (213/234 -643/598) would be the best. I do like that 111 LSA, and the lift numbers seem to be to my liking.

Do you have any issues with bucking, falling flat on its face out of the hole, or the car dying once you put it into reverse too quickly?
None of those cams I listed are as large as the G5x3, and I feel I can get nice street manners with a small cam, get a great sound, and make around the same #'s with some good flowing heads.

I'm looking to go with at least a 3600, or if I can find it 3800. Do you have any videos of your car anywhere? I'm getting Spintech Super Pro Streets, but I'm always up for more camming vids.

No issues with bucking at all. Never falls flat always super responsive. The reverse thing can happen. I've noticed it more while backing up. You need to keep a more constatnt throttle while backing. You you feather it wants to stall. My tune isnt perfect tho.

Of those two I like the 228R. Will have better mid range to get the car moving. However, like mentioned above, I like the Torquer v.3 cam above the others. More aggressive idle and good peak and mid range numbers. I'm always concerned about going to small on cams, so the TQ3 is my first choice. If you are worried about the lift or the aggressive idle, the 228R is the way to go!

I don't want to go too small, and not be happy; thus opting to open the motor back up and do another cam swap When I can just use that money for heads
Could i do a custom grind 228/234 on a 113 598/612 lift? and get a similar idle of the TQ3. I don't remember the specs on the TQ3, but I can attest to the more aggressive idle

Would the v3, coupled with a 3600 stall, super pro street spintech exhaust, ported LS2 intake, and a dyno tune yield me nice #'s? I'd like to see upper 300s or low low 400s before heads. Have you seen in cars with teh V3 a significant loss of low end tq after installing this cam in particular over the 228R?
