Default switching to 85mm truck maf and iat wiring?

Okay I got my maf sensor today and their are 2 wires coming off the plug for the IAT. Can I just cut the plugs off my iat and solder themi on the maf connector or do I have to use my own iat sensor? And what wires got to which as in positive to negative. Or does it matter. Im not around the car now so I don't know what the wires on the original harness look like

And I want to clean up the wiring a little. Can I just cut the other male plug off and solder and heatshrink the casper plug to my wiring harness. I mean what's the purpose of he wiring harness if it doesn't make everything work . I bought the maf and it came with the harness.
