Excesive humming/whining noise in 2nd gear
question for all you Manual transmission gurus
i have seemed to developed a humming or whining noise whenever I'm in second gear it only does it when its in second, at cruising speeds when I get on it i cant hear it either due to the noise or it probably goes away any ideas?
I just swapped clutches, flywheel, and have 410's
Thank you

Thank you, Im going to exchange slaves soon so I'll check that out! hopefully nothing scored, when I did my LS7 Clutch and flywheel swap, my installer (old man) didnt want to mess with the slave and pilot bearing. so hopefully I'll get that that tended soon. Thank you!

This is not true. When the transmission is in 2nd gear, the 2 gear needle bearings (between the gear and the main shaft) are not turning since the synchro ring has engage that gear. If the noise is only present on 2nd, it either has to be the cluster shaft (2nd drive gear) or 2nd gear itself. If it was main shaft bearing, it would be present on other gears also. I doubt it's the cluster shaft but I would take a close look at the 2nd gear. Good luck!
