Comp Cam has warranty?
I installed a 214/218 high lift comp cam in April of this year and 14000 miles later the engine developed a heavy tick. I first thought it was a broken spring but after they all checked good i pulled the heads and a couple of the lobes are worn / pitted badly. This seems to be very premature for wear like this, is there any chance of getting Comp cam to warrant an early failure like this?

This is what their warranty says on all cams.
"COMP Cams® warrants that all of the products are free from defects in material and workmanship, and against excessive wear for a period of twelve months from date of purchase. This limtied warranty shall apply for a period of one year from the date of purchase and shall cover only the original purchaser. This warranty is valid on camshafts only where new lifters and proper valve springs are used, such as those found in COMP Cams® Kits."
So did you buy their kit?

Will give them a call Monday, just got the cam out and it definately seems to be a lack of hardening process or something related to the manufacturing of this cam. Just for more information i installed new LS7 lifters, pac 1221 springs and lifter preload of about .085. This is why I am pretty disappointed since i didn't go cheap on the cam swap.
