LS4 Performance - Project 2005 GP GXP

Over the winter i will post my progress that i make on my car, hope everyone likes what i plan on doing and if you dont, that sucks for you lol

So far i have a Cartuning Turbo kit running 5psi, ported ls4 intake, 3" mandrel exhaust, lowered

Plans are:
Overhaul transmission
42lb injectors
7psi boost(5psi now)
Take apart my entire interior and clean everything, reasemble(Part way there)
New carpet
Any weight reduction i can do(25lbs down so far)
Black grill set - INSTALLED, pg2 for pics
Debadge/blackout/clearcoat all emblems
Re-tint and re-clear tail's and turn signals(in progress)
New wheels and tires(Gunna paint my current wheels all black and get new tires)
PEM's and Wrap mani's and crossover.
Clean and paint brake calipers(red) and brackets/rotors(black)
Clean and shine wheelwells
Straight pipe mufflers w/ new black tips or Magnaflow catback.
New headlights(OEM)
Electric cutout plate
Poly dogbone mounts - Installed.
and last if funds allow, Inferno cf hood.



Thats all i can think of for now, I will update when i think of something else to add:devil:

got the grills today, look great will be installing them this weekend! pics to come(gotta find camera cord)

to cold to install the grills right now lol but got the valve covers off and painted them red and painted the coil brackets black again to clean them up. pics of the cover tonight

Wow, that car is really nice. I am very envious. Keep up the great work. Very nice 1/4 mile time before the turbo I might add.

thanks lads. Next ill be painting the dog bone same as the valve cover and sanding/repainting the diagonal braces black.

Just ordered 2 poly dogbone mounts one round one and one square one. Both are red and ill have one extra round one if anyones interested in buying it throw me a pm. They are from zzperformance.

also will be ordering a tranny cooler from an 08 e350 or 250 next week. thing must be 2inches thick. 91bux my cost

Got the grills in finally along with both valve covers and my poly dog bone mounts. Took some pics and will post them tonight when i get home!

Ordered some DEI Exhaust wrap and ties today to wrap my manifolds and crossover and maby my dp if i have enough left. I hope a 2"x50' roll will be enough and ordered 12 14" ties.

Did your Doug Thorley headers hook right up on the turbo? I was considering getting a set, but wasn't sure if they would fit.

no went back to stock manifolds for turbo application.

well, 50ft of exhaust wrap isnt enough lol was enough to do my front manifold and 90% of my turbo crossover. Still have to do my rear manifold and the turbo downpipe.

Man,the engine bay is lookin clean.I also like the "MURDERED OUT" look,one of the best lookin GXP I've seen on this site.

2" x 15' covered my crossover. i assume 2 x 50 will do a hell of alot

i have hid's and the tails actually show quite a bit of light, and i didnt tint my reverse lights lol ill do another test fit tommorrow after work.

275/40zr18 tires on 18x9 35offset FIT IN THE REAR!!! i have atleast 3/4inch of clearance all around the tire!

In all seriousness, the point I was trying to make is that I want to be able to rotate my tires.

I have two extra 18x8 Alcoas in the garage that need tires. I was planning on putting 275 on them and then buying another pair of 275 tires for my current fronts and going 275 all around.

But after seeing what 275 looks like in the rear, I've made up my mind by sticking with 255 and simply buying two extra 255 tires for the wheels in the garage.

So yes, I knew about the front tires being wider to combat torque steer. Yes, I had plans to go wider to combat it even more. Due to the reasons stated above, I will forgo that option.

The skinnier tires in the rear only affect handling in extreme cases (like autocross). So going 255 all around would be ideal [for me] and have little effect on driveability.

keep in mind that i have 18x9's and a lower offset than the stock 18x8's. So 275/40's may not stick out like that on the 18x8 alcoas.

care to share what to search for to find those tips? they look pretty nice.

I have dual 2.5" sorry. They are very raspy!

exhaust tips dont effect sound unless your comparing turndown to straight.

i have resinated tips right now so im sure ill hear a difference. tips are staying chrome for now

new rims yea, right now theres no tips on it now since the one side wasnt quite perfect so i gotta get it welded on instead. new tips are the dual tips.

little update, car got egged last week, yesterday someone backed into it and broke the taillight, scuffed the bumper and trunklid. so right now its parked in my garage under a carcover at my new house and its staying there untill i find a taillight. Not havin very good luck lately.

also have a couple vids and a pic to share when i get the internet hooked up at home.

I have a new left side taillight from an accident on my old '04 GT2 back in 2007.

The taillight got slightly scratched by the guy who sideswiped me but I insisted that the insurance company buy me a new one.

I never put the new one on and it's been sitting collecting dust ever since.

Where did you get those mudflaps?!? I need them badly.. Front 275's cause plenty of damage to the rocker panels and rear fender seams with dirt/debri/etc...
