The general answer is yes you can do what you are proposing. With additional facts a more specific answer could be given. Are you planning to to have an auto or a manual behind the motor? Do you want "Drive by Wire" or "Drive by Cable"? I did an LQ9 that originally had "Drive by wire", but converted it to a "Drive by Cable" in a 1966 GTO. I used a "0411" PCM from a 02 PU and an 02 truck wiring harness. Has a T56 six speed behind it. Added wires for the reverse lockout and cooling fans, deleted all the "auto trans" stuff. Had the PCM reflashed as a 2001 Camaro/T56. Car runs great!

Your setup should be really straight forward (well, as straight forward as these swaps ever are!). Sounds like you have the Green/Red connector harness. Everything from the truck harness should plug in, with the exception of the injectors (the injector pigtails are different). If you get an 03-'07 truck PCM (service numbers on the PCM include 12576106, 12586243, 12586242, 12583560, 12583561, and 12589463), and have the theft turned off, and you get an under hood fuse block from the same model truck as your engine harness, you can wire up the engine to run needing only 4 wires from the fuseblock. Good luck!
