5.3 T-5? How to?
I was looking for some information on what parts i needed to mate a ford t-5 to an ls based 5.3. i already have a k member to make the swap and found the belhousing i want to use. just looking for what to run as far as clutch and pilot bearing to use and such. also what flywheel are people running to make this work if there is something unusual i should know. i appreciate the help!
thanks

Dan W. seems to have found out enough info about the necessary flywheel to make this swap doable. The more I think about it, the more I'm tempted to put an LY6 in my mustang

i was planning on putting this into my 93 coupe but that got totalled so im still looking at how to make this work together. i think the t-5 is lighter and cheaper fix if it ever tears up too. now since i have an insurance check im looking into sn-95s and gonna continue with trying to make the swap happen. since mcloeds new hydraulic clutch master for mustangs im even more tempted to use the t-56.

I did this swap with a ford tko500. Not sure if it is the same as a T5 or not. You need to find a Mcloued bell housing that fits a BBC to a top loader ford 4 speed. The top loader bolt pattern is the same as a ford Tko500. You will have to swap the pivot ball to the other side as well. LS1 F body flywheeland pressure plate with the ford disc. You will also have to make your own pilot bushing but that can be made from one from a chevy truck wit a 4 speed. See, easy isn't it!
