Exclamation T-top locks

Can anyone tell me if the t-top locks and the entry keys are the same? I bought a car with no entry key. The guy lost it. I was thinking it would be easier to take a t-top to the locksmith.

Thanks

No kidding, really? When I bought mine - it came with 3 keys: ignition, door and t-top (much smaller key) my door key does not work in my t-top lock. I apologize if I gave wrong information.

My 97 TA has two keys. An ignition key, and one other that locks/unlocks the following:
T Tops, Glovebox, Hatch, & Both Doors. Maybe it changes from year to year, but I dont know. I just know mine only needs 1 key to unlock 4 things.

Other than the fact that I (or anyone for that matter) could peel the top of the window back, stick your hand in there, and unlatch it? Its rather easy.

Its pretty easy actually. If your gentle you won't break anything either. I'd had to do it a couple times...

It is pretty common to break in that way. I've also seen a few fly off. Mine are always locked because of it.

Yeah I had to get in mine by "pealing" the window back a few times. Also had a "close encounter" with my tops ALMOST flying off, after I pealed the window back and forgot to relatch them. Got up to about 55....heard a whistleing noise......thought the windows were cracked a little so I tried to raise them....and all of a sudden the tops raised a little (v shaped), and i thought OHHHH $hit.....Slowed downed FAST and they droped back in place and I latched them with a quickness.
