totalled the goat... removing headers, need help! hey guys, i just totalled the goat, im trying to pull off the headers bt cant remove the driverside header. seems like the steering arm is in the way... is there and way to get them out?

well the steering rod is out of the way. their long tube headers. they wont slide up or down.... any ideas? do i have to drop the subframe? take out a motor mount?

You have to take the bolts out of the steering rack and lower it out of the way to gain more clearance. If i remember corectly one of the power steering lines to the rack was removed when i did mine too.

ok so heres what happened. im cruising down a local highway to meet my girlfriend last friday night at the mall. i take a long left hand sweeper in the left lane traveling 65 mph and closing in a black jeep that was traveling way slow because they were exiting on the left. so i look, turn on my blinker, and change my lane to the right. next thing i know im staring at the center median and drilled it nose first. when i got out of the car there was literally no one around me. a cop was seriously no more then 5 minutes behind me. as i got out of my car she and a witness pulled up and then i saw the goat and just flipped ****... the witness said a little blue car (later found out to be an eagle talon) was trying to chase me cause he must have heard me rev at a pretty cute college girl i saw further back... the guy said the car was easily doing over 100 which made sense why i did catch him when i checked my mirrors. as i picked up my bumper i found part of the talons rear...said 16v dohc awd turbo. that made me understand why he kept control...and i hit the wall. half hour later they found his car ditched in parking lot about 5 miles away from the scene and impounded the car. heres a pic from when it happened and when i picked the car up from the autobody shop. such a damn loss. but i am in the immediate market for another...thanks to collision... and yes my chevy is an ls2...to bad not a duramax though

Thanks guys. Yea if I found him there would have been problems but he ran. They found him but wont release his info. I haven't found out damage costs yet... I hope I get enough to buy a new one.... usmc what happened?
