billet grille/liscense plate question
In Illinois would it be legal to put my liscense plate behind my billet grille. I know it wouldnt be very visible but im just trying to avoid future tickets.

I'm certain that would look terrible, in addition to the fact that most laws are written in strict form - i.e. "the plate must be 90% visible and the lettering visible from a reasonable purview.." So the answer is no, most likely that would not conform to the legalities of a front plate law.
I would either use the SLP plate mounting piece, which mounts on the bottom, under the car, and prevents the drilling of holes in the fascia, or I would go all out with a billet grille and make it look as though "the car just wouldn't look right WITH a front plate" - although you're always risking a ticket with the latter.

I own 2 Camaros, my first in which I bought when I was 17, and i've never had a front plate. On my LT1, I bolted one to the air dam just to make myself less likely to get pulled over. Any time I have got pulled over for various reasons (speeding, etc), cops have let me off and only given me a front plate ticket. It's only ~$38 here so I dont mind paying that (on average) once a year to keep my front plate off.
